Heart. Broken.
A little boy has written a heartbreaking note to a woman who had her windchime stolen off the front of her house.
The letter was left on the Chrissy Marie's doorstep in Washington, US, last week.
The mum of four said she opened her door to find the note and five dollar note and when she read the letter it brought her to tears.
She took to
Facebook to find the little boy - not to punish him, but to offer a gift.
The note read:
"I'm sorry that we stole your windchime. Our mom died and she liked butterflies so my sister took it to put on our window and I am sorry. This is the only money I have please do not be mad at us."
It is signed simply "Jake"
Chrissy is appealing to anyone who may know little Jake to help:
"I asked my landlord who owns lots of homes out here she said she does not know anyone named jake. Kids around her though said that there are a lot of Jakes at their school."
The search continues.
Jake, we are sending you and your little sister lots of hugs.
Your mum would have been very proud.
