The location that sold the €500,000 winning EuroMillions ticket has been confirmed.
The main draw’s jackpot was worth a staggering €38.8 million – and while nobody won the top prize, 57,000 players in Ireland did win prizes.
However, EuroMillions players in Ireland had better luck in the EuroMillions Plus draw, which has a jackpot of €500,000.
The winning numbers for the draw were 5, 8, 15, 32 and 33.
The National Lottery confirmed on Friday night that the winning ticket was sold in Limerick – and now they have revealed the exact location.
According to Extra, the ticket was sold at Twohig’s SuperValu store in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick on October 11.
Michael Twohig, the owner of the store, told he publication how everyone at the store was “over the moon for the lucky winner, whoever they may be.”
The winner is the 25th person to win the EuroMillions Plus prize in Ireland this year – and the second this week, after someone in Dublin won the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus on Tuesday and another player in Cork won last Friday.
The lucky Quick Pick ticket was bought in Easons in Mahon Point Shopping Centre.
Brendan McCarthy, manager of the Easons store told The Irish Sun:
“Its tremendous news to get and this is the second time in two years we have sold a National Lottery winning ticket worth €500,000 as in September 2017 we sold a Lotto Plus 1 winner.
“We have no idea who the winner could be as Mahon Point Shopping Centre is the largest in Cork so it really could be anyone.
“We will be encouraging all our customers today to check their tickets as it could be them but to we hope it brings a lot of happiness to the winner, whoever he or she may be.”
