Kate has thrown herself back into her work.

Madeleine McCann’s mum Kate has returned to work for the first time since her daughter disappeared.

According to reports, Kate McCann has been working as a doctor as the UK continues to battle Covid-19.

The mum left her job as a GP in 2007 when Madeleine vanished from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Mrs. McCann wanted to solely focus on her daughter’s disappearance case.

It is believed the mum is now doing her bit to help as frontline workers continue to care for patients with Covid-19.

The Sun reported: “Kate’s back working as a doctor. She’s helping out at her local hospitals now and not doing any surgery work.”

The family source continued: “She has thrown herself back into a full-time job to assist others in need. There’s such a demand for qualified medics during these unprecedented times.”

They added, “Kate’s enjoying doing her little bit to help but we hardly ever see her and Gerry now. They are both so busy.”

Her husband Gerry works as a Professor of Cardiac Imaging at the University of Leicester.

Madeleine disappeared when she was just 3-years-old.

She was sleeping in the family’s holiday apartment with her younger siblings while her parents dined with friends 55 metres away.

Kate and Gerry checked in on their children throughout the evening, but Kate discovered her daughter was gone at approximately 10 pm.

Madeleine’s missing person case has become one of the most well-known cases in the world.

It is believed over £11 million has been spent on the case so far.

Over 14 years have passed since Madeleine was last seen, but there is still no trace of the young girl.

She would be 18-years-old now.
