A blogger has sparked a huge debate online about children wearing makeup, particularly too much of it.

Instagram user Faremakeup shared a photo of a young girl wearing makeup, including heavy contouring and fake eyelashes. Along with the photo, she said,"This is cute I mean it’s okay to do makeup on your daughter ONE time and use the RIGHT and safe products just for fun, it’s not okay if she wears it everyday." Even though she said it wasn't OK for children to wear makeup every day, people are still very annoyed by the picture and have said it's too much for such a young girl.

"Um no. DONT DO THIS ON the INNOCENT CHILD'S FACE .. it will quickly damge that soft skin of hers.. Seriously doctors said it." "I think the lashes are way too much. Perhaps it could harm her real lashes too." "There face is pure and angelic they don't need to be caking it up until they get old and wrinkley." "It’s way too much for this beautiful little angel ! She doesn’t need any makeup at this age."

Other's have come to the defense of the photo:

"If it makes her happy I don't see why not on occasion. A lot of young girls like to play dress up and make up can go into that too. It's like face paint." "I don’t think it’s anybody’s business what someone does with their kids and what they allow them or don’t allow them to do." "She may not need makeup but it’s absolutely ok, makeup isn’t something to hide from young children, it’s similar to giving a toddler a crayon to color with. it can be just as much art."

A similar argument was causing controversy online a few weeks ago when parents were angry that a little girl was able to do a full face of makeup on herself, concealer and all.
