Reality star Mama June has confirmed her daughter Anna has terminal cancer. Anna Cardwell, also known as ‘Chickadee’, was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma at the age of 28.
The ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ star has been undergoing treatment since her diagnosis in January, but her mother has confirmed she has terminal cancer.
She praised her daughter for being so brave. She told Entertainment Weekly that they do not expect Anna to go into remission.
“For me, it’s an emotional rollercoaster sometimes. Mentally it’s always on my mind. We know it’s terminal.”
“She’s actually doing pretty good. She’s handling it pretty good,” the mum added.
“We don’t know what to expect because the cancer is very aggressive, and it grew from nothing to something huge on the left side of her body really fast.”
“She’s stage 4. She’s not going to go into remission. We’ve all accepted that, so I just tell people one day at a time because you never know.”
Anna went to the doctor at the beginning of the year after suffering from stomach pains. The mum-of-two underwent a series of tests following the visit.
Her doctor then diagnosed her with cancer in her lung, liver, and her kidney.
