A man in New Jersey, America decided to surprise dozens of children and families on Black Friday by paying for their toys.
He went to his local Toys R Us and paid for toys that were on hold for families. He ended up buying 62 in total which cost him over $10,000.
Charlie K only made the plan on Friday morning before he went to the store to buy his own son some toys. The store said it's not uncommon for incidents like this to happen around Christmas or Thanksgiving, but they have never seen one person spend so much as others.
Explaining his reason for doing it, he told
CBS, "I’m trying to bring some happiness to people, to the community that brought happiness to me and my family. I love this community and I am trying to provide back to it.”
A Toys R Us spokeswoman confirmed the amount saying:
“We love the heartwarming acts of one secret Santa who visited Toys R Us Cherry Hill this morning - Charlie K. paid off more than 62 Layaway orders totaling approximately $10,780."
Not finishing there, he also decided to donate $2,000 to a charity called Toys for Tots that gives Christmas gifts to families who can't afford them.
What a hero!
