A carnival employee has been rushed to hospital in Cork after an incident involving a roller coaster carriage this morning.
According to local reports, the man in his thirties was assembling the ride at a Funderland location near Pearse Road when he was struck by a part of the roller coaster, suffering serious injuries.
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Authority told the Irish Independent that they were contacted about the incident shortly before 10am this morning.
“We have been notified and inspectors have been sent to the scene,” he said.
