Man killed in collision with minibus carrying 14 teens

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old man was killed in a collision with a minibus carrying 14 teenagers last night.

The incident occurred on the main Dublin to Longford Road at Corboy, Edgeworthstown, where emergency services treated the teenagers and two adults, who were driving home from an event in Longford.

The man, who was the driver if the car involved in the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11.10pm. His body was taken to the morgue at Mullingar Hospital.

The road has been closed as an investigation into the incident continues this morning. Anyone with information is asked to contact Granard Garda station on 043 6687660 or call the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
