Man reunites Irish children with the photograph he took of them 34 years ago

Melissa Carton

Such a touching story.

A man who visited early in the mid-eighties went on a quest recently to find a group of children he took a photograph of during his trip.

The man said during his stay in Ireland in 1985 four children approached him to take their photo after they noticed he had a camera.

34 years on and through the power of social media, the photographer has been able to reunite the known grown children with their photo.

The photo was shared on the Facebook page Tarbert where Irish woman Jennifer Scanlan identified all four children.

Ms Scanlan said that two of the boys are her brothers Derek and Kenneth O’Gorman, as well as siblings Josephine and Tomas, who are all from St Patrick’s Terrace in Tarbert.

Jennifer went on to say that seeing the photograph was wonderful as she lost her brother Derek a couple of years after the photograph was taken.

“It’s such a wonderful pic , as kids we always ask people to take a picture of us and it’s beautiful thank you so much for sharing this with us.”

After reading Jennifer’s comment the daughter of the photographer promised to post the photograph to Jennifer and her family.
