"It was always the plan to get married but then the children came and we didn’t really want to go spending the money on a wedding when we had the children to look after and a home to run," the mum-of-two said on the Eoghann McDermott Show. "It never became a priority and I suppose now that I have got this diagnosis I suppose it is not our last chance to do it because we are not giving up any hope, it’s just we just want to do it."Now suffering with stage four cancer, Louise is finding it hard to pull the wedding together.. "I am a plus size and I am big chested. It is hard to get something that will fit nice and is flattering. "At the same time I am not feeling too well after having the chemo so going dress shopping is quite stressful for me."
The show was inundated with messages from listeners offering to help.
Catherine, manager of the Carriage Donn store in Westport, said she would no doubt be able to source a dress for Louise.
She also organised for local salon Petals to look after the bride's makeup on the day.
Shane from local florist Carraig Flowers also offered to decorate the venue to make sure it reflects Louise's personality.Explore more on these topics:
