For a great cause.

We all saw the memes yesterday.

Yes, 13 years after its release and we’re still quoting lines from Mean Girls regularly.

There is one time of year, in particular, that rallies fans and it has become known in recent years as Mean Girls Day – October 3.

Well, this year, the cast of Mean Girls reunited on the famous day but this time for a much more important reason.

Stars of the hit film Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Bennett, Lacey Chabert and Daniel Franzese all took Twitter yesterday to share their plea to fans to raise money for victims of the Las Vegas shooting.

The actors have set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising money for the National Compassion Fund, a programme in the National Centre for Victims of Crime.

They set fans a target of $300,000, saying that if everyone donated just $3, they’d “reach the target in no time”.

So far, the page has raised over $60,000 for victims of Monday’s attack.

The horrific shooting, which is now officially the deadliest in US history, claimed the lives of over 50 people and injured over 500 as they enjoyed a country music festival in Vegas.
