Meghan Markle has penned a sweet tribute to her daughter Lilibet

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have ensured their two children are kept out of the spotlight since they stepped down as senior working royals.

The parents have protected their son Archie and daughter Lilibet from the public eye, but Meghan has been recently sharing snippets of their family life on Instagram.

The proud mum even posted a rare photo of her daughter Lilibet to mark her little girl’s fourth birthday.

Meghan shared a black and white photo of her and Lilibet cuddling on a boat to celebrate her special birthday.

Alongside the adorable photo, the mum said: “Happy birthday to our beautiful girl!

“Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it,” the mum wrote.

Meghan praised all of their loved ones, as well as their followers, for helping mark Lilibet’s day.

“Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!” she gushed.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are raising their two children in California after relocating from England in 2020.

The couple decided to move away from the UK because it isn’t ‘safe’ for their children

Prince Harry previously said it is “not possible to keep them safe” in England.

In a statement, the dad-of-two shared:

“It was with great sadness for both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020.

“The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place where I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.

“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”
