The mother of a teenager killed in a car accident in Tipperary yesterday has appealed to others to wear seat belts.

Sixteen year-old Adam Case was a backseat passenger in a car that collided with a tree at Boston on the Ballingarry North to Cloughjordan road in Tipperary at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was brought to University Hospital Limerick, reports the Leinster Express.

His mother, Sharon Case, today called on others to take precautions when travelling in a car.

“Please in memory of my baby boy, please always put on your seat belt,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

In another post, she wrote; “My baby boy with granny now.”

Adam who was originally from Abbyleix in County Laois, had moved to Shinrone in County Offaly in the last year, according to The Sun.

Two other people who were travelling in the car, a 17-year-old girl and 22-year-old man, were also taken to hospital following yesterday’s crash.

The man is said to be in a serious condition.
