Met Éireann have issued two weather warnings ahead of Christmas Day

Here's what you can expect.

A number of counties will be affected by two weather warnings issued by our national forecaster. Met Éireann has issued a rainfall warning and a national advisory warning which come into effect today and last until tomorrow, Christmas Day. The rainfall warning is in place for Connacht, Donegal and Clare, predicting "heavy rain at times today and overnight. 25 to 35 mm likely". It is valid from 10 am today until 7 am tomorrow morning.

The national advisory warning then is set to impact both Munster and Leinster with heavy and persistent rain expected tomorrow. It is valid from 4 am tomorrow morning, 25th December, until 8 pm tomorrow night.

This follows a wind warning that was issued last night for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo. It is in place from now until 8 pm this evening with strong and gusty southwesterly winds expected.
