There will also be gusts of 80 to 95 km/hr, with the coastal areas being hit the strongest.
It comes as two status yellow rainfall warnings remain in place for a total of eight counties.
Both of the warnings end at 3pm today.
Kilkenny, Wexford, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary are under an alert for heavy rain, with the risk of spot flooding.
And up to 50mm of rain was forecast overnight in Cork, Kerry and Waterford - who also remain on alert for heavy rain, with the risk of spot flooding.
The widespread rain will continue as the morning goes on, with a pretty unsettled forecast for the rest of the day.
