Met Éireann issue wind warning for nine counties

Noooooo.

Cathy Donohue

A wind warning has been issued for nine counties.

A Status Yellow warning has been issued for nine counties and it’s going to get very windy in Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Clare tomorrow night.

There will be south to southwest winds, veering westerly, and these winds could reach mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 110 km/hr.

The warning is in place from 8 pm tomorrow night until 10am tomorrow morning and of course, these winds will be strongest in coastal areas.

At the moment, the forecast for the next few days is unsettled.

Tomorrow will start off bright with some sunny spells in the south but rain will develop in the west and northwest, spreading across the country as the day goes on.

It’s extremely windy on Wednesday but on Thursday it’s back to rain, sun, rain and who even knows what way to dress for this mad weather.

More of the same for Friday and early predictions for the weather suggest more of the same, just ideal for the middle of June right?!
