There is good news and bad news here.
As we reported last night, Storm Eleanor is set to arrive on these shores today, and bring with an almighty high wind speed.
According to Met Eireann, winds of mean speeds 55 to 65 km/h., gusting 90 to 110 km/h., will develop later this afternoon and evening and will continue overnight and through Wednesday, and these will affect the entire country.
On top of this, over half the country have been issued an orange wind warning.
Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, South Galway, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary should expect Storm Eleanor to move in off the Atlantic later this afternoon and will then move very quickly across the country this evening.
Southwest to west winds of mean speeds 65 to 80 km/h, gusting to 110 to 130 km/h., are expected, as well as very high seas along Atlantic coasts, with a risk of coastal flooding.
However (and now for the good news part), as per their 5am update this morning, the brunt of these high winds will now be arriving around 4pm this afternoon, and are expected to mostly have passed us by the much earlier time of 9pm.
Additionally, the nationwide wide warning has also been brought forward to 4pm this afternoon, and is expected to be over by 9pm on Wednesday night.
