The weather forecast shows that we’re in for a day full of rain and thunder

It was good while it lasted.

Throughout the weekend and yesterday was like we were living in a different Ireland. It was sunny, it was warm and everyone was basically just a better person in the sunshine.

But then that ended.

If you haven’t already noticed, this morning is already looking grim enough, with Met Éireann saying that it’s about to become worse with heavy rain and thunder.

The weather forecaster said: “Mainly cloudy today with showery outbreaks of rain tracking northwards through the afternoon, turning heavy and persistent later in the day, with a risk of thunder. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees in light to moderate south to southeasterly breezes.”

Meanwhile for tonight, “rain will clear northwards with the risk of heavy or thundery downpours. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees in light to moderate east to southeast winds, a little fresher along southern coasts.”

Tomorrow is looking a bit all over the place with the sun popping its head out again, however showers will persist.

“Thursday will see widespread showers, some heavy, prolonged and possibly thundery, with bright or sunny spells too. Cooler then recently with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees, in light to moderate variable or southeast winds, gusty at times.”
