It’s not going to be too pleasant.
Met Éireann has predicted that we’re in for a lot of rain this weekend, with the possibility of frost and thunder.
Heavy – and long – spells of rain will cover the country today, with thunder predicted in Leinster; however, there might be a few sunny spells to break up the day.
The weather forecaster said:
“A mostly cloudy start to today with showers or longer spells of rain, with the risk of thunder across Leinster. Some sunny spells developing at times too though, with the best of drier brighter weather across the west and southwest. Highs of 7 to 9 degrees, in northeasterly breezes, which will be brisk at times along Irish Sea coasts.”
Tonight there will be “heavy rain” with temperatures falling between 1 to 5 degrees.

Saturday is looking “dull and wet”with lows of 0 to 5 degrees during the night.
“Outbreaks of rain over the midlands, north and east will gradually clear northeastwards on Saturday night, with the dry clear intervals in the west and south extending countrywide by dawn. Lows of 0 to 5 degrees with a risk of frost, coldest under the long clear spells in the south. Winds becoming light southwest to south or variable overnight, allowing mist and fog patches to form.”
Sunday is looking much the same, with rain, mist and fog.
“The cloud and rain will gradually spread northeastwards over the country during the afternoon, with the heaviest of the rain likely to affect southern and later eastern coastal counties. Top temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate south to southeast winds, freshening on southern and southwestern coasts. Further spells of rain on Sunday night.”
