EgyptAir has confirmed that most passengers have now been allowed to leave their hijacked aircraft, which landed at Larnaca Airport this morning after a terrorist threatened the pilot.
Five foreigners and the crew remain inside the Airbus A320, which landed in Cyprus at 8.50am local time, as a suicide bomber, who has reportedly been identified by authorities, threatens to detonate his belt.
The nationality of the hostages is not yet known, although eight British passengers and ten Americans were reportedly travelling on the flight, MS 181.
Negotiations with the kidnapped result in the release of all the passengers, except the crew and four foreigners.
