Mother and two children rushed to hospital following Cork accident

The incident took place over the weekend.

A woman and two children have been hospitalised following a road traffic accident near Cork's Dunkettle Interchange on Sunday.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene following a two-vehicle collision on the M8 near Glanmire, Cork at approximately 7.15pm.

A statement from An Garda Síochána reads: "The collision, between a car and a truck, occurred in the northbound carriageway."

Gardaí have since confirmed that there were no injuries in the incident but " the driver of the car, a female in her 40s, and the two other occupants, both male juveniles, were taken to Cork University Hospital for assessment."

There are currently ongoing enquiries into the incident.
