Mother who died saving her son in Cavan lake hailed a hero in touching funeral tributes

Natasha Core has been remembered as a loving mother and a hero. The mum tragically died trying to save her son in Swan Lake in Cavan last week. She was laid to rest this weekend. During her funeral service, the mum's loved ones reflected on her life. Her father said Natasha would forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her. According to The Irish Times, Kevin Mooney said: "She was a loving mum and she made her family proud,” he said. “When you were down, she put a smile on your face and she made you happy. She’s a hero to Tyler and Leighton and she is an angel. She is my hero and she is my angel." It’s an image of care, warmth, and affection.” Her partner Joseph said he misses her so much already. "Words can't describe how much I love and miss you already. My heart is broke; me and the boys love you to bits. I hope you get the best bed in heaven because you deserve it," he wrote on social media. Her sons placed a photo of their mum and a phone on the alter. Natasha's school, neighbours and locals honoured her with a guard of honour in the church grounds.
