The mother of the baby abandoned in an amusement arcade toiled block last week has been arrested by police in Liverpool.
The newborn girl, who nurses at Ormskirk Hospital in Lancashire named April, was found face down in a toilet bowl by Warren Chadwick, who has been hailed a local hero after saving her life.
The mother, a 29-year-old woman from Prescott, has been charged with attempted murder and child cruelty.
April, who, miraculously, is healthy following her ordeal, is currently being cared for by hospital staff, who said they were so inundated with clothing, gifts and blankets for the abandoned tot they had to ask people to stop donating.
