A mother has written a powerful open letter to the thief who broke into her home.

According to The Huffington Post, Alexandra Mahjouri from Derby took to her Facebook page following the incident which took place earlier this month.

She explains in the post how it made her realise that material items aren’t important.

The thief in question is said to have made off with a number of belongings including Christmas presents for her son and a Tiffany necklace that has sentimental value.
