Multiple people have been injured after a car crashed into Houses of Parliament in London.

Police have arrested one man at the scene as emergency services tend to others.

The incident occurred this morning just after 7.30am.

BBC News reports that a car crashed into security barriers just outside Houses of Parliament near Parliament Square.

A man was later seen being handcuffed by police. Metropolitan Police has said nobody injured is thought to be in a “life threatening condition.”

Streets around Millbank, Parliament Square and Victoria Tower Gardens have since been cordoned off.

Houses of Parliament are surrounded with security barriers made from concrete and steel.
