Mum claims her ex cut off their daughter’s hair after she let her get highlights

A mother in the US has claimed her ex cut off their daughter's hair because she'd dyed it.

Christin Johnson from Ohio said she brought her 13-year-old daughter Kelsey to a hair salon to get highlights recently. The girl had wanted to dye her hair to mark her birthday and so Christin obliged. But just days later, it was a different story as when Christin collected Kelsey from her father's house the girl's hair had been cut off. Christin alleges that the highlights didn't go down well with Kelsey's dad and stepmum, who she says cut off her hair when she went to stay with them. "This is what my daughter looked like Sunday when I took her home and the other two pics is what happened today before she was brought to me... all over me having highlights put in her hair for her birthday!" Christin wrote on Facebook. The girl's father and his wife, both firefighters, have been suspended from their work while the incident is investigated by social services, according to local station WTOL. Christin has since shared in another post that she'd gotten her daughter a wig. "I'd like to thank the ladies at Lady Jane's on Glendale in Toledo, OH for making my baby feel more like herself!" she wrote.
