Mum Found Guilty Of Hiding The Bodies Of Her Six Babies In A Storage Locker

Amanda Cassidy

A Canadian mother has been found guilty of hiding the remains of her six babies in a U-Haul locker storage unit.

Staff at the company discovered the dead children after she stopped paying her rent on the container.

Police found the bodies of five boys and a girl aged between 34 and 40 weeks in bin bags along with children’s toys and blankets.

43-year-old Andrea Giesbrecht was found guilty on six charges of concealing the body of a child in October 2014.

The Irish Times reports that Giesbrecht’s solicitors argued that she was not hiding the bodies but saving them.

However, the judge in the case said that she had used a false address and her maiden name for the storage account.

He also agreed with expert testimony that the babies were probably born alive.

Sentencing will happen at a later date and each charge carries a maximum penalty of two years in jail.
