She’ll need an extra large cup of tea after that.

A mum in Australia has broken a record after given birth to a baby boy weighing 12lb 6oz.

28-year-old Nikki Bell gave birth to her son Parker without any pain medication and after seeing photos of the new arrival all I can say is fair play.

I gave birth to my second child without pain relief but my daughter was a tiny 6lb. Being that baby Bell is more than twice that size my hat comes off to the new mum.

According to the Mirror Nikki’s labour at Blacktown Hospital, West Sydney lasted ‘two-and-a-half hours’.

The Blacktown Midwifery Group posted photos of Parker to their Facebook page to celebrate the new record;

“This gorgeous chunky boy was born on Thursday to one of our MGP Mums, Nikki. He weighed in at a record breaking 5.755kg (12lb 6oz for the old school) and was a natural birth with no complications.
We are happy to report the not so little Parker and Mum Nikki are doing well.

Welcome to the world Parker, you’ll be the talk of Blacktown Maternity for a long time to come! Also a big congratulations to Nikki, Michael and big sister Maddison.”

Parker is Nikki’s second child and little (or not so little as the case may be) brother to big sister Maddison.

A big congratulations to the Bell family on their gorgeous and record breaking new arrival.
