A mum has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her conjoined baby girls who passed away this month.

Lailani and Iyana Gaskin were born earlier this month to mum Fuschia, who documented their short time on earth through Facebook group, Lailani and Iyana’s Journey.

The four week olds shared a heart and a liver and could not be separated.

They passed away on March 16.

26-year-old Fuschia said that she has a “heavy heart” but that she was glad that she got to experience her pregnancy.

On Facebook, she wrote:

“I have a heavy heart tonight… My baby girls Lailani and Iyana passed on the 3-16-18 and we had their services soon after.

“We had many exciting moments as well as scary during this whole pregnancy but I am happy I had the time I did with them.

“Tonight is the first time I have spoken of what’s happened. They gave a good fight for as long as they could.

“I also have a happy heart because I know they’re with God and the short time they were here we were able to see their different personalities.”

The mum also shared a photo of the twins’ service which took place this week.

Fuschia discovered that she was expecting conjoined twins during her 20 week scan.

She wrote on her GoFundMe page that she wanted to continue with the pregnancy despite being told there was only a 50 percent chance the babies would survive the first 24 hours.

When her daughters were born, Fuschia called them “strong little fighters” and said that they had surpassed “all of the odds they were given.”
