This Mum Put Her Breastmilk Under A Microscope And The Results Are Incredible!

Alison Bough

Want to see what liquid gold looks like under a microscope? A mum in the US has shared an incredible video of her microscopically magnified breastmilk and it’s pretty amazing.

Jansen Howard, an artist, asked her father (a blood microscopist) if she could put her breastmilk under a microscope so that she could see for herself what her baby was getting.

The results, which the delighted mama shared to her Facebook page, are breathtaking, as the video shows the magic of the ‘living’ milk:

“You guys… this is so cool! This is the living liquid gold we call breast milk in motion! My dad is a blood microscopist and this is a single drop off my breast milk under his microscope. It’s miraculous and it’s ALIVE tailored to my babies needs at this moment. Absolutely amazing!”

Jansen also posted a video of formula placed under the same microscope as requested by many mums responding to her initial video post:

Jansen’s magnified breastmilk has now had over 1.4 million view. She writes:

“Breastfeeding has been the most magical, rewarding chapter of my life. Through all the trials and tribulations of single motherhood, when my baby latches the storm subsides and I know that everything is as it should be. The incredible bond of a breastfeeding relationship is something that is indescribable through mere words.

I want to remember these precious moments for the rest of my days. There are so many idiosyncrasies that are part of a breastfeeding relationship. From the nipple twiddling to the love biting to the baby yoga while on the boob, every moment is magical, every moment is special.”
