A mum has told how her kids’ car seats saved their lives after they were involved in a car crash heading home from pre-school.

Jenna Casado Rabberman, from Pennsylvania,  shared the shocking photos on Facebook in the hopes of reminding parents about the importance of car seats.

She explained that she was on the way home with her two sons, one aged 2 and the other 6 weeks old, buckled into the back of the car.

They had stopped for milk on the way and were “just minutes from home” when another car slammed into them.

She wrote:

“THIS is why you buckle your kids into their car seats correctly every SINGLE time.

“Even when they scream because the straps are tight.

“Even when they complain about the chest clip or being rear facing.

“We were minutes from home. Another car slammed into us.

“You never think it will happen to you.

“My boys escaped without a scratch but the paramedics told me it could have been very different had I not taken the extra 2 minutes to be sure they were buckled correctly.

“I will be fine, my kids are fine, everything else can be replaced.”

The mum later updated the post to add that she had never expected it to go viral, but hoped that it would encourage some parents to double check car seats in the future.

She added:

“I never expected this post to be seen by so many people!

“I really only posted it for family & friends but hopefully it will save a life by making someone think twice about buckling their child in.”
