Mum thinks she spots ghost on baby monitor but it was actually part of the crib

I can see how she got a fright.

Mum Maritza Elizabeth had a very promising ghost hunting career cut short when the 'ghost' that she spotted on her baby's monitor turned out to be something not so spooky. Maritza shared the photograph of what she thought was a ghost lying beside her child in their crib and another photo of what it actually turned out to be and it's hilarious. The embarrassed but relieved mum posted the full story on her Facebook;

"So last night I was positive there was a ghost baby in the bed with my son. I was so freaked out, I barely slept. I even tried creeping in there with a flashlight while my son was sleeping. Well, this morning I go to investigate a bit further. It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets. I could kill him."

In fairness to her it really does look like there is a second child in the cot when you view it through the baby monitor so I can see how she thought it was a ghost. I wasn't the only one either as other parents left hundreds of comments on the original post;

"um...yeah I’d be freaking the f out." "Omg that looks so creepy."

The post of the not so spectral sighting has since gone viral being shared almost 300,000 times.
