The royals have shared an adorable birthday portrait of their eldest son.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a special photo to mark Prince George’s 8th birthday.

The parents proudly shared the snap of a beaming Prince George who is sitting on top of a Land Rover. The photo, which was taken by Kate Middleton, is a sweet nod to the prince’s late great-grandfather, Prince Philip.

The late prince, who died at the age of 99 in April, was extremely passionate about engineering.

People couldn’t help but comment on the resemblance between George and his father, Prince William.

“He looks so much like his dad!” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Oh my goodness look how much he resembles his Dad..and grandmother. Happy Birthday, young Prince!”

“How is he so big?! What a handsome boy! I see so much of Prince William in him!” another wrote.

Others praised the Duchess of Cambridge’s photography skills. The mum has been taking her children’s birthday portraits for quite some time.

“What a lovely photo as always from The Duchess, George is looking so grown up!”

The Duchess has been hugely passionate about photography for quite some time and even launched a special photography content called Hold Still during the pandemic.

The mum-of-three admitted that her love for taking photos does drive her three children crazy at times.

She told Hold Still finalists, “Everyone’s like, ‘Mummy, please stop taking photographs’.”

The Duke and Duchess recently attended the Euros Final with Prince George. Despite England’s defeat, the young prince looked like he had the time of his life at the match.

The 8-year-old was seen jumping up and down and celebrating alongside his parents during the game.

There’s no doubt the parents will struggle to top that present.
