It’s going under a revamp.
Mytaxi has announced that it’s changing its name yet again. An email sent out to customers earlier today explaining the news.
The email said: “We’re excited to announce that our majority shareholder Daimler have joined forces with BMW to create a new mobility brand family.
“At mytaxi we’re always working hard to give people the freedom to move around cities as easily as possible. We’re excited for the next step of the mytaxi journey as we change our name to FREE NOW later this year.
“As we continue to grow across Europe, it’s important that we are consistent, recognisable and offer the best experience possible to all our passengers, no matter where you hail from!”
Obviously, everyone is a bit like ‘WTF?‘ because it was only recently that mytaxi was changed from Hailo.
WhyTaxi?

Hailo was better . Should have left it alone

Wow, and I thought the switch from ‘Hailo’ to ‘MyTaxi’ was bad. ‘FREE NOW’? Really? Do you *hate* money? How does that relate to taxis? Spam rules are going to capture everything you ever send, doubt anyone will read your next email circular.

Again?

It’s hard to think of a better name for a taxi-hailing app than @mytaxi – it does exactly what it says on the tin. Why on Earth does anyone think changing that to Free Now, later this year, is better? Especially when it just reminds you that taxis are far from free.

MyTaxi is changing its name again. Is it going back to “Tweedy”.
