The best news.

Hurrah.

If there’s a mad rush in your house to decant liquids into 100ml bottles, fill plastic bags with mini bottles of toothpaste and shower gels before spending a fortune in Boots duty-free buying tan and deodorant, I’ve some good news for you.

It looks like an end to the 100ml liquid limit is coming after London’s Heathrow Airport announced they will be bringing in new security scanners that will leave people carry liquids of all sizes in their hand luggage.

These new CT scanners costing £50 million will be rolled out across all Heathrow terminals by 2022. With the new scanners featuring state of the art technology, passengers will also be allowed leave laptops and tablets in their bags too – success.

Chris Garton, chief operating officer at Heathrow spoke to BBC News saying:

“This cutting-edge equipment will not only keep the airport safe with the latest technology but will also mean that our future passengers can keep their focus on getting on with their journeys and spend less time preparing for security screening.”

Hopefully, the rest of the world will then follow suit and we can all just fling what we need into our cases.

The 100ml requirement came in across the world in 2006 as a terror precaution.
