The status orange warning, issued by the national forecaster today, reads:Very windy this eve&tonight with SW winds 55 to 65 km/hr&gusting to 110 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in W&NW counties&along SE coast, may briefly exceed these values. Rain widespread&heavy for a time at night with the risk of spot flooding, turn more showery later. Lows 4-7°C.

"A depression now named Storm Georgina will track to the northwest of the country tonight. Southwest winds will reach mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h, gusting up to 120 km/h for a time tonight".It is expected that south-west winds will be particularly strong with gale force winds along coasts. Storm Georgina is expected to have the most impact between the hours of 12 am and 5 am tonight.
This warning sits alongside two further status yellow warnings issued earlier today.
