An Afghan mum has given birth to a baby girl on an evacuation flight.

26-year-old Soman Noori was fleeing Afghanistan on a flight to Birmingham, England when she went into labour.

The new mum gave birth to her daughter Havva at 30,000 feet, just above Kuwait.

She was travelling to England with her 30-year-old husband Taj Moh Hammat.

The name Havva is of Hebrew origin and means life. Quite the perfect moniker for the couple’s third child.

The young girl’s name also means ‘air’ in Turkish.

There was no doctor on board the flight when the mum went into labour so the team onboard the Turkish Airlines flight assisted her.

The airline confirmed that both the mother and baby Havva were healthy and well.

The flight landed in Kuwait as a precaution, but continued on to England and landed in Birmingham at 11.45 am.

Just last week, another Afghan woman gave birth to a baby girl on a flight leaving Kabul.

The mum gave birth on a US Air Force C-17 plane travelling from the Middle East to the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

The mum began to suffer from complications, but her baby was safely delivered with the help of US medical personnel.

“The baby girl and mother were transported to a nearby medical facility and are in good condition,” the US military confirmed.
