Tributes have been pouring in for DIY SOS star Jason Liversidge following his untimely passing.
The dad passed away after a 10-year battle with motor neurone disease.
He stole the hearts of the nation when he appeared on DIY SOS in 2015. Presenter Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team helped transform the dad’s home to make it more accessible.
Jason was 95% paralysed and the team helped make his house feel like home again.
Jason’s wife confirmed the news of his passing on Facebook this week:
“Jason Liversidge died peacefully at home surrounded by his girls at 22.59 on the 5th of August 2023.”
“Thank you for being the best husband and father that we could ask for,” she continued.
“You will be forever young and remain alive always in our hearts and minds. We love you! Fly free my love,” she added.
Tributes poured in for the dad after his wife Liz made the heartbreaking announcement.
Many remembered him as an inspiration, as well as a “true fighter”.
“A fighter to the very end. He is a patient I’ll never forget,” one healthcare worker said.
Another added: “What a true fighter and campaigner he was, but it was so clear that he managed to live his best life with your unfailing support and love.”
“So sad but he’s achieved amazing things in his life and his legacy inspires others,” one said.
Others also praised Liz and their daughters for raising awareness.
“Jason and your family did so much to raise the profile and awareness around this devastating disease.”
