31-year-old Matthew Coward has been released on bail.
A Dublin swim coach charged with producing child sex abuse imagery, as well as child sexual exploitation has been granted bail.
31-year-old Matthew Coward appeared in court this week but has since been granted bail.
He has been charged with 12 offenses under the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act.
Coward has been charged with the sexual exploitation of three girls. He has also been charged with producing child sex abuse imagery at the pool where he worked.
Coward was also charged with possession of child sexual abuse imagery.
A book of evidence is now being prepared. The case has been adjourned until September 13th.
Under bail conditions, he must remain at his home in Santry.
The swim coach is also not allowed near the swimming pool where he worked and also cannot work as a coach.
Judge Joanne Carroll also said Mr. Coward must surrender his passport and cannot travel.
He also has to sign on twice a week at Santry Garda Station.
Judge Carroll ordered Mr. Coward to provide a phone number so Gardaí can contact him.
Judge Carroll banned him from contacting “any witness in this case”.
According to The Sun, the former swim coach did not respond to the charges in court.
The case will go before the Circuit Court, but a book of evidence must be prepared beforehand.
Coward was released on a €200 bond and will appear at Blanchardstown District Court next month.
He has also been granted free legal aid due to his financial means.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that there were hidden cameras placed in the dressing rooms of a Dublin swimming pool.
