Dylan Coady Coleman

The late Dylan Coady Coleman has been remembered as a ‘selfless’ young boy following his untimely passing.

The young boy tragically died in a road accident in Co. Clare on February 25th. He was involved in a collision involving a van and sadly passed away in Temple Street Hospital days later.

Speaking during his funeral service, Fr. Whelan said Dylan donated his organs and saved other people following his passing.

According to The Irish Mirror, Fr. Whelan confirmed that Dylan and his class discussed organ donation in school.

“One of the amazing little events which his family shared with me was a discussion in the classroom about organ donation and what it was and what it meant,” he said.

“When Dylan came home that day, that is what he talked about with his family at home.

“It really was at the top of his agenda that day. He said he would certainly want to be an organ donor and sadly nobody thought it would happen so, so quickly, but Dylan has now given life to quite a number of other people by his being a donor.

He added: “This is extremely important to his family and they would certainly encourage everyone to be an organ donor.”

Gardaí are urging witnesses to come forward following the incident.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling in the Purcell Park area between 1:45 pm and 2:30 pm on Sunday are asked to provide this footage to Gardaí.

Witnesses can contact Shannon Garda Station at 061 365900.

They can also contact Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

We’re keeping the young boy’s family in our thoughts during this harrowing time.
