A Dublin family has been left heartbroken after 7-year-old
Faye Miley was diagnosed with a Grade IV brain tumour.
Her parents Robert and Sandra have called on the public to help raise vital funds for their daughter.
7-year-old Faye is a "happy" and "funny" girl from Dublin.
In March of this year, Faye started to experience a sudden onset of headaches and vomiting.
Faye's symptoms hadn't subsided by April so her parents took her to the opticians.
"They immediately agreed she had lateral inflammation of both of her optical nerves.
Faye and her family were then sent to an Eye and Ear Hospital. However, they were moved to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin.
"Our worst nightmare was confirmed," her parents shared.
Doctors discovered that Faye had a lesion on her brain. Doctors in Temple Street thought the tumour was benign.
"Faye had surgery to resect a 5cm Thalamic tumour from her brain.
The surgery removed 80% of her tumour.
But then her family were given the news "no parent ever wanted to hear."
Faye was then diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
"Faye was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV."
"Unfortunately, this is a high-grade form of cancer, and the prognosis is also poor."
Her parents said Faye is their hero and inspiration. She has been incredibly brave following her diagnosis, but she now needs treatment outside of Ireland.
"We will also have to travel for further treatment that is unavailable in Ireland to help our little princess.
