Santina Cawley's mother Bridget has spoken out about the harrowing loss of her daughter. Santina was murdered by Karen Harrington when she was just two years old. The young girl died from blunt force trauma but suffered over 50 injuries before she died on July 5th, 2019. Speaking about the devastating loss, her mum Bridget told Virgin Media News that she couldn't believe her daughter was dead. She said, "I tried to bring her back because she was cold. The mum revealed, "I was trying to warm her up." "I didn't want to believe she was dead." "I just wanted to take her home," Bridget added. Bridget said she is "very angry" with Karen Harrington. 38-year-old Harrington was found guilty of murdering the Cork toddler. "She just sat there in court like nothing happened. She was playing the game, that's the way I see it." The mum said she will always have her memories of Santina, but she will never get over the loss. "I'll never get over what happened to our lovely baby." "She was so gentle. I can't believe someone could do that to her," she admitted. "You couldn't do that to a baby. You couldn't do that to nobody," Bridget added. Earlier this week, the jury found Karen Harrington guilty of Santina's murder. She will likely be sentenced to life in prison.
