Nicky Byrne and family evacuated due to wildfires in Portugal

Nicky Byrne and his family were evacuated during their family holiday in Portugal.
The Westlife singer, his wife Georgina and their children are currently on holiday in The Algarve but were rushed to safety due to threatening wildfires.
The World Of Our Own singer was at a bar with his father-in-law Bertie Ahern when the evacuation occurred.
The family was staying at the Quinta do Lago resort at the time.
Temperatures had reached highs of 45 degrees at the time of the evacuation.
A source told the Mail on Sunday:
"The singer was on a family holiday with wife Georgina, sister-in-law Cecelia, and father-in-law Bertie Ahern."
"A source spotted Nicky enjoying a few drinks with former Taoiseach Bertie in a local bar.
"But their pints and conversion were cut short as the pub was evacuated due to the fires which were worsening."
There are currently over 30 active fires in Portugal. Extreme temperatures and climate change have caused the concerning wildfires.
The Quinta Do Lago resort shared a statement about the wildfires.
"Following the fire situation in Quinta do Lago, the management would like to reassure all its residents that it is closely monitoring the situation."
The resort has closed its golf courses, sports facilities as well as outlets.
“We would also like to appeal to the entire community to remain calm.
"Keep updated as local authorities are working hard on the ground. Keep safe.”
The resort confirmed that the evacuations were a precaution. It stressed that the well-being of its guests is its number one priority.
