No Visitors For Baby Injured In Nice Attack

Katie Mythen-Lynch

As desperate families search for loved ones who have been missing since the horror attack in Nice, an unidentified baby lying critically ill in hospital has had no visitors.

While no details about the child’s family have been released, police are reportedly worried they may have been killed in the attack.

The baby, who is being cared for at Lenval Children’s Hospital, is one of 50 children receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the attack and subsequent stampede of terrified revellers. 12 are in intensive care.

A total of 84 people, ten of them children, were killed when a lorry ploughed through a crowd of people watching a fireworks display on Thursday night. ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack.

Among the victims were Texas dad Sean Copeland and his eleven-year-old son Brodie, who has been visiting the French Riviera town for a relative’s birthday.

Timothy Fournier died trying to save his wife, who is seven months pregnant. Having spotted the approaching truck, 27-year-old Parisian Fournier threw his wife to safety, taking the full force of the impact himself.

Among the children still missing are 14-year-old Laura Borla, who has not been seen since Thursday and has not answered her phone.

Relatives of mum, Taqwa have also posted a photograph on the page, seeking information on her and her 11-month-old son. They are believed to have been watching the fireworks display when the attack took place.
