Why? Why can’t we go back to those sunny June days when it felt like the sun would never leave us?
Instead, now we have constant rain, wind and absolutely freezing temperatures.
In Met Éireann’s latest weather forecast, it looks like tonight is going to be a rotten night as temps dip to -1 degrees.
For today, Met Éireann said: “Mostly cloudy for the rest of today, though there will be some bright intervals at times. Scattered showers will mainly affect east Leinster, south Ulster and southwest Munster.
Today, scattered showers will continue to affect E & S counties, with a few still heavy or prolonged in the SW this morning. Mainly dry elsewhere with a good deal of cloud & some sunny breaks, the best of these in Connacht & W Ulster. Highs of 7 to 10°C with mod. E to NE breezes. pic.twitter.com/rF2CzTH0ui

“Connacht and west Ulster will stay largely dry. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with moderate east to northeast breezes.”
Tonight is going to be a bit worse, with the weather forecaster saying: “Tonight will be cold and mainly dry with clear spells in many areas and with frost developing. Lowest temperatures of -1 and +3 degrees for much of the country. Cloudier on east and south coasts with some further showers and temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees.”
At least it won’t be lashing out (fingers crossed).
