The Midlands is proving a lucrative spot for big money wins this week.

One lucky punter picked up €250,000 on a ticket bought at Supervalu in Abbeyleix in Co Laois on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a Meath woman who bought a scratch card at a petrol station in order to use to the toilet this week is now €50,000 better off.

The woman collected the winnings from her €5 All Cash Platinum scratch card from Lotto HQ yesterday.

“I rarely buy scratch cards but I only had a fiver in my pocket and thought I would buy one,” she said.

“I scratched the card when I got back into the car and simply could not believe my luck!”
