Researchers in Oregon discovered by simply chatting about good news together in the evenings you can reduce your stress levels which can, in turn, reduce your risk of age-related diseases.
Social Psychologist from Gonzaga University, Sarah Arpin, who was part of the study, said that positive pillow talk has been linked to overall studies that show how important it is to share snippets of good news with your partner just before bed.
In relationship research, this is called 'capitalisation' and it is most important to share some positive chats together especially about something that happened within the last 24 hours - a good gym session, some happy news or an achievement at work.
The research which focused on military couples will be presented at the 2017 Society for Personality and Social Psychology Annual Convention.
