Get the kids in bed and whip out the blanket because one our very favourite Irish movies ever is on TV tonight.
The Snapper will be on telly at 9pm, and what better way to finish off your weekend than by watching the classic flick?
The movie is based on the novel by writer Roddy Doyle, the second book in The Barrytown Trilogy.
The story revolves around a young woman, Sharon Rabbitte, and her shock pregnancy.
The news has many unexpected effects on her conservative, working class Dublin family in the 90s and to say it’ll a terrific tale is an understatement.
It’s safe to say that no matter how many times you’ve watched The Snapper, it gets better every time.
It was last aired on St Patrick’s Day and seemed to go down an absolute treat with viewers.
As if today can’t get more Irish !! Paddy’s day , grand slam winners and now they’ve only gone and put #thesnapper on ???? #A1Sharon

“The Snapper”. My mother would have described it as “very common”. But it really is terrific.
