At least she wasn’t caught taking a selfie.
She may have given up her personal social media accounts but that doesn’t mean Meghan Markle doesn’t enjoy a good scroll online like the rest of us.
Meghan closed all of her personal social media accounts back in January, less than two months after she and Prince Harry announced their engagement.
High-profile members of the royal family aren’t allowed their own accounts, which is a shame.
The rule means we’re missing out on lots of cute Boomerangs of Prince George and Princess Charlotte running around, as well as tweets from Meghan about her favourite Dublin night clubs, like she did back in 2013.
Despite not having social media anymore, we know that Meghan still has a smartphone.
The Duchess was spotted holding it yesterday while on an engagement on the couple’s royal tour of Australia.
She and Harry were saying goodbye to officials just before they boarded a plane in Melbourne to fly back to Sydney.

To be fair, it’s not like she was taking photos and ignoring everyone so we can’t imagine she’ll get in any trouble for having it out.
Meghan actually revealed today that she doesn’t miss social media at all.
Speaking with One Wave, a Sydney-based group that promotes mental wellbeing, Meghan revealed that she’s found it freeing not being online.
“She said a really beautiful quote. She said ‘flattery and criticism run through the same filter,'” Jessina Oakes of One Wave said.
“She said it was very freeing that she no longer has social media. And just how great One Wave is making those connections with people and being able to support one another.”
