New parents Shannon and Dean, from Newcastle, were surprised to learn that their newborn son had a fully formed front tooth.

Little Cruise Horsburgh was born on January 27 in Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle. When he opened his mouth the midwife and Shannon both noticed what looked like a tooth. And sure enough, after inspection, the could see one single fully formed tooth sticking out of his gum. The baby's grandmother, told The Mirror:

"The midwife said, look, it’s a tooth - it was fully formed, the midwife had only ever seen one like it before. It was just dead weird. We’ve had so many people come to see him and everyone is quite surprised by the tooth, no one has ever seen that before.”

Most babies don't develop teeth until after six months, with some coming soon after the four-month mark, but there are the rare few who will be born with a tooth. Research suggests that 1 in every 2,000-3,000 babies are born with teeth.
